The Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) Liberal Studies Education Pathway provides a strong foundation for students aspiring to teach at the elementary, middle, or high school level.
This pathway prepares students for transfer to a university or college to earn certification in Early Elementary Education (K-3), Elementary Education (K-6), Middle Level Education (5-8), Secondary Education (6-12), or Special Education.
Completing the Liberal Studies Education Pathway fulfills the General Education Transfer Block agreement between the University of Maine System (UMS) and the Maine Community College System (MCCS). This agreement ensures that students who complete the block will have fulfilled the general education requirements at all UMS and MCCS institutions, with the exception of up to eleven additional general education credits, as specified by the receiving institution.
