Campus Safety & Security
Kennebec Valley Community College is committed to providing a safe place for students and staff to work and learn. The administration and staff of the College work closely with the Fairfield Police Department to canvas the campus regularly; the College also works in collaboration with several community resources to implement new programs aimed at increasing student awareness and safety while decreasing criminal incidents.
There is a Safety and Security office located on each campus. On the Fairfield Campus it is in the King Hall lobby, Room 113. At our Alfond campus, you’ll find us just off the Averill Hall lobby in Room 123. Either office can be reached by dialing 453-5811 or KV11 from campus landline phones. Officers are typically on duty at both campuses 7am-9pm M-F, 7am-5pm on Saturdays.
We hope all KVCC students feel safe and comfortable here. Students and staff may address their concerns directly to the Director of Safety and Security. We believe input and feedback is an integral part of effective policy & practice.

Emergency Response Team
The Emergency Response Team (ERT) is the responsible entity during a major emergency/incident. The ERT follows the principles of the National Incident Management System (NIMS) and the incident commander and their appointed designee(s) are responsible for the overall management of the incident, including:
Ensuring that emergency responders have been notified
Coordinating with the responding emergency services personnel
Ensuring appropriate campus-wide communication is initiated
Determining the appropriate course of action based upon the specific emergency/incident
The College ERT is made up of both executive leadership members and key personnel from departments which are integral to the emergency plan, namely information technology and physical plant.
