Moody Chapel

Welcome to Moody Memorial Chapel

Kennebec Valley Community College is proud to be the stewards of this historic building. Well-known in the Central Maine area, Moody Memorial Chapel was built in 1897 and is an iconic masonry chapel that graces Rt. 201 in Hinckley, Maine.

The rooms of the Chapel are finished in natural North Carolina pine.  The interior is light, cheerful, and attractive.  The crowning features are the two memorial windows installed at opposite ends of the Chapel illustrating lilies and grapes, favorites of the two sisters who contributed to the creation of the Chapel.

The Chapel is non-denominational and seats 275 people comfortably, is wheelchair accessible, and offers ample parking.  It stands on a knoll facing the Kennebec River.

The Chapel provides a beautiful setting for concerts, performances, weddings and events and is available for rent for your special gathering!

Music at Moody

The KVCC Center for Civic Engagement and the KVCC Foundation sponsors a music and expressive art series at Moody Memorial Chapel.  The focus of the program is to showcase local and regional talent in this beautiful and inspiring setting. Weddings and Events at Moody

Moody Memorial Chapel provides a stunning space and location for your very special day or event including weddings, christenings, corporate events, and more!  Our staff will assist you in every detail of the planning of your wedding or event to ensure that the day is unforgettable! 

For your convenience, a list of area vendors and musicians is available upon request.  Any persons wishing to play the Chapel’s organ or piano during the event must obtain prior approval.

If you wish to book Moody Memorial Chapel for your wedding or event, please submit a request here. Once an event is booked, the event planner will reach out to you. A signed contract is required.  A non-refundable deposit is due when you endorse the contract, and the remaining balance is due at least thirty days prior to your event. Please note that we require renter’s insurance.

Wedding rehearsals are scheduled to be held the day before your wedding, typically one hour in length, and are kept light and stress free.
