KVCC Foundation Emergent Need Scholarship Fund

In response to the unique and difficult challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the KVCC Foundation has established the KVCC Foundation Emergent Need Scholarship Fund to assist students experiencing unexpected financial barriers that jeopardize KVCC enrollment and success. This fund may not be used for tuition, fees, books, exams, or other expected expenses related to college enrollment.

Recipients must be currently enrolled and participating in courses in the current semester. Applicants must be matriculated in a KVCC degree or certificate program, have completed a FAFSA, have demonstrated unmet financial need (federal methodology), and a minimum 2.0 GPA.

  • Eligibility Requirements

    In response to the unique and difficult challenges caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, the KVCC Foundation has established the KVCC Foundation Emergent Need Scholarship Fund to assist students experiencing unforeseen financial barriers that jeopardize KVCC enrollment and success.

    Recipients must be currently enrolled in a KVCC degree or certificate program, have completed a FAFSA and have demonstrated unmet financial need (federal methodology). and a minimum 2.0 GPA.
  • Please provide your estimated financial need to remove or reduce the financial barrier you are experiencing. Please note that awards are often capped at $400 per student per request and that there are a variety of factors that determine funding eligibility and availability.
  • Please identify the area in which a scholarship will reduce the greatest barrier to your academic success. Please note that the emergent need fund is unable to assist students with the cost of tuition or fees. However, you may also apply for a summer and/or academic year scholarship on the KVCC Foundation webpage: https://www.kvcc.me.edu/foundation/scholarship-info-for-students
  • Please provide specific details, information, cost estimates, etc. regarding the barrier you identified above as well as any pertinent information you may wish to share.
  • The Alfond and Marden questions are optional and help us to prescreen applicants for additional potential scholarship eligibility.
  • KVCC recognizes that students often have competing demands outside of class. KVCC currently has a childcare grant in collaboration with KVCap. The grant provides childcare supports and subsidies to qualifying students with child/ren that are younger than 5 years that are not eligible for kindergarten.
