Full-Time Physical Therapy Assistant

Summary:

Maine Health Sports Performance, Physical and Occupational Therapy in Sanford, Maine is seeking a full-time Physical Therapy Assistant to join our multi-disciplinary team. We are an outpatient orthopedic and sports medicine clinic treating a variety of post operative and orthopedic conditions. As a part of Maine Health, we work very closely with our orthopedic surgeons as well as local high schools and community athletic teams to provide the best care to our community.

Under the direction of a Physical Therapist, the Physical Therapy Assistant role assists in the provision of physical therapy interventions to patients/clients who have impairments, functional limitations, disabilities, or changes in physical function and health status resulting from injury, disease, or other causes.

Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

1. Education: Graduate of an APTA accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.

2. License/Certifications: Current applicable state(s) temporary/permanent license as a Physical Therapy Assistant required or in compliance with the state practice act.

3. Current BLS certification required or must obtain within 30 days of start date. Positions in Home Care will require current valid Driver’s License with vehicle available for work covered by liability insurance as specified by agency policy.

4. Experience: One year of clinical experience preferred.
