Build a strong foundation for a career in residential construction with this comprehensive 11-week training program. Designed for aspiring construction professionals, this course provides the foundational knowledge and hands-on practical skills employers are looking for in entry-level workers. This 135-hour program is meant to people who are interested in creating a career in construction. Participants are required to have a HS Diploma, GED, or HiSet.
Prerequisite: 
  • OSHA 10 certification (You must provide your full name– as it appears on the card– and your OSHA card number to be considered for the training.)
Program Units:
  • Tool Safety (10 hours)
  • Construction Print Reading (16 hours)
  • Building Concepts, Leveling & Construction Math (20 hours)
  • Building a Shed from Floor to Roof (38 hours)
  • Roofing, Siding & Exterior Finish Work (36 hours)
  • Stringers & Stair basics (15 hours)
The costs of this training are covered by the Harold Alfond Center for the Advancement of Maine’s Workforce Grant.
