CLOTHESLINE PROJECT FOR DOMESTIC VIOLENCE

In honor of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, KVCC is once again partnering with The Family Violence Project to host an interactive online display of The Clothesline Project:

The first Domestic Violence Clothesline originated in 1990 and carried 31 shirts in different colors, each color-coded and decorated to represent a particular survivor’s experience.  Since its inception, the Clothesline Project has grown into an international effort, with more than 500 projects throughout the world.

It is a powerful reminder of the many invisible ways that interpersonal violence impacts our community.

A representative from The Clothesline Project will be here on the following dates and times:

Tuesday, October 4th, 11a-1:30p, in the Upper Campus Center, King Hall, on the Fairfield campus.

Wednesday, October 5th, 11a-1:30p, in the Upper Campus Center, King Hall, on the Fairfield campus.

Thursday, October 6th, 11a-1:30p, in the Woodlee Lobby on the Alfond campus.

KV Cares Committee welcomes students to participate in the Clothesline Project throughout October.  Stations to create shirts or masks that honors the victims & survivors of gender violence in a very public display.  

Join us in this endeavor at your convenience.  Stations are set up on the Fairfield Campus in the Upper Campus Center in King Hall and on the Alfond Campus in the Woodlee Hall lobby.  Your designs will be featured in a public display.

We ask that students, faculty, and staff that design a t-shirt for display purposes only, and post it to the KV App on the community wall.  All designed shirts will be displayed at the Domestic Violence 5k.  Click here for more information on joining the Race to End Domestic Violence.
