There are two (2) types of assessments completed with new students.
- The Accuplacer is an assessment that helps guide placement in specific college courses.
- The ATI-TEAS is an entrance exam designed for applicants seeking admission to the following programs: Nursing, Radiological Technology, Physical Therapist Assistant and Occupational Therapy Assistant
The Accuplacer assesses a student’s Writing Skills, Reading Skills, Numerical Skills, and Elementary Algebra Skills. It is designed to help students begin their studies at an appropriate level.
There are a number of websites available to assist with Accuplacer preparation:
- College Board
- http://accuprep.pccc.edu/ is an excellent set of practice guides & tests
- The Learning Commons at KVCC offers prep workshops in each subject area. Contact the Director at 453-5084. These workshops are free.
The ATI-TEAS (Test of Essential Academic Skills) measures a student’s ability in Reading, Mathematics, Science and English and Language Skills. There are a number of resources available. We recommend that students prepare for the test. For information regarding exam preparation materials, click here.
Effective September 1, 2018, the cost for the ATI-TEAS is $60.00. This amount is subject to change by the testing vendor.
Applicants register and pay for the ATI-TEAS on the MyKV Student Information Portal – Admissions, My Application.
