National Network for Pulp Paper Technology Training

(npt)2 mission:
…to provide the pulp and paper sector of the United States forest products industry with a globally competitive, technologically advanced workforce and to give students and incumbent workers around the nation exciting and effective education and training opportunities.

Kennebec Valley Community College is proud to be a charter partner in the network. We provide pulp and paper technology education for future mill employees as well as employees already working in the industry. We are expanding our program to other mills and community colleges throughout New England. We are constantly developing and enhancing our program. We conduct pulp and paper technology seminars and work with high school personnel in the geographic areas where pulp and paper companies are located. (npt)2 Success is based on a solid partnership with industry to provide scholarships, internships (summer employment), and jobs to qualified program graduates.

(npt)2 originated as a result of a National Science Foundation grant and is an NSF National Center for Excellence.

(npt)2 is made up of three other community colleges including:

·Mid-State Technical College

as well as TAPPI and Auburn University
