 What is "Maine is IT!"?

"Maine is IT!" is a grant awarded through the Trade Adjustment Assistance Community College and Career Training (TAACCCT) grant program.  This grant is designed to address the critical and growing need in Maine for skilled information technology workers across many industries.  The project, proposed as a statewide consortium of all seven Maine Community Colleges in partnership with employers, workforce development agencies, industry associations, and other institutions of higher education, is designed to build and strengthen innovative education models that meet the needs of Maine's TAA-eligibile workers, un/under-employed adults, and employers.

The goal of this grant, is to serve nearly 2,100 participants by improving access to Information Technology (IT) training and help Maine employers who show a critcal and growing need for skilled IT workers.  Work being done under this grant will creat multiple entry points to college degrees as well as provide professional development courses that result in Industry Recognized Certifications and allow for transferability into a two year degree path.
