KVCC Offers Lodging to First-Time, Full-Time Students, Beginning Fall 2025

College lodging is located nearby at the Best Western Plus Waterville Grand Hotel in Waterville, Maine. KVCC offers our students a unique lodging experience where they can live close to our campus and enjoy the community-living experience among KVCC peers while enjoying local Waterville amenities.

Fifty beds will be available to our students that allow access to the pool, fitness center, community space, free Wi-Fi, queen-size beds, television with cable access, mini-fridge, microwave, private full bathrooms, and on-site laundry facilities.  KVCC residential staff will live at the hotel to provide guidance and community engagement opportunities.

Students who take advantage of this lodging opportunity will benefit from the KVCC culture extending beyond what you experience on campus. Our goal is to provide you with a pleasant and comfortable living environment where life outside the classroom encourages and supports your own academic goals.

KVCC Lodging Eligibility

To be eligible for lodging with the Best Western as a KVCC student, the student must: 

  • Be accepted into a certificate or associate degree program. 
  • Be enrolled as a first-time, full-time student (defined as taking a minimum of 12 academic credits per semester) 
  • Students carrying less than 12 credits per semester (fall and spring) may appeal to the Dean of Student Affairs. 
  • Provide documentation of State-required immunizations. 
    • submit proof of two measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) vaccinations and  
    • a current diphtheria/tetanus shot (within the past 10 years), and a current diphtheria/tetanus shot (within the past 10 years).
    • Immunization records must be submitted to the Admissions Office prior to submitting a Lodging Application.  Please do not send immunization documents with your lodging application. If you have questions regarding immunizations, please contact kvccadmissions@mainecc.edu or call 207.453.5822 
  • Students will receive communication from the college regarding submitting a lodging deposit of $100 (non-refundable after August 1st).  

 Upon meeting eligibility requirements listed above, students will receive conditional acceptance into our lodging program. No room assignment will be made until course registration and new student orientation have been completed. 

Continuing Lodging Eligibility: 

  • Be in good academic standing with a grade point average of 2.5 or higher. Students who fall below the 2.5 cumulative GPA may appeal to the Dean of Student Affairs. This appeal must be in writing and needs to contain a plan for future academic success. 
  • Ensure there are no academic or financial holds on their accounts.
  • In the case of a financial hold, students must work with the Business Office to complete payment or make an appropriate payment plan.

Lodging costs

In-State/Out-of-State (Includes Housing and Meals) = $11,800.00. Fall semester lodging and meal costs are $5,900.  Spring semester lodging and meal costs are $5,900.

Meal costs

Lodging students will receive 15 meals per week at the hotel.

 

KVCC Shuttle Information

A KVCC shuttle will be available from the hotel to the Fairfield and Alfond campuses.  The schedule will be available soon.

There is available free parking at the Best Western.

Lodging Details

  • Does everyone have a roommate? 
    • Yes, each room is a double space with two queen beds. Each bedroom has one private bathroom shared between the two students. 
  • How is a roommate chosen for me? Can I choose my own roommate?
    • There is a lodging preferences questionnaire provided after you submit your lodging application. It is designed to aid us in assigning compatible roommates. You should be as honest as possible when answering the questions as this is our ideal matching tool.  You may indicate a potential roommate’s name on the housing application. 
  • Are pets allowed?
    • Service and support animals are permitted with appropriate required documentation.  Animals may not be left unattended in the room.  Further questions can be directed to Dean of Students at 207.453.5019.
  • Do rooms have cable TV and internet service?
    • The Best Western offers TV and wireless internet services.
  • Students may not bring the items noted below into their rooms: 
    • Refrigerators or microwaves. A microwave and refrigerator are provided in every room for the residents to share with their roommate(s).  
    • Hot Plates, crockpots, espresso machines, or toaster ovens. 
    • Candles with an open flame 
    • Scentsy Plug-ins 
    • Portable heaters

  • Are there laundry facilities in the building? What are other options? 
    • There are laundry facilities at the Best Western with coin operated machines. 
  • What kinds of housekeeping services are provided? 
    • Students will be responsible for taking out their own trash and keeping their rooms to living standards.  
    • Students are responsible for their own bed linens, towels, pillows, and blankets.
