GRADUATION NEWS AND REHEARSAL

Congratulations to our class of 2008!

THE AWARDS DAY CEREMONY will be held on Friday, May 9th at 9:00 a.m. in the Carter Hall Multi-Purpose room (Gym). Families of the students are most welcome to attend. The ceremony should last approximately one and a half hours and graduation rehearsal will immediately follow.

GRADUATION REHEARSAL will be on Friday, May 9th at 10:30 a.m. in the Multi-Purpose room (Gym) in Carter Hall immediately following the Awards Ceremony scheduled on that day. All graduates attending graduation are encouraged to attend rehearsal. Rehearsal should last no longer than one hour.

PTK stoles may be ordered through the PTK website.

Honor cords will be available before graduation at the Civic Center in the room where you will be assembling.

Please pick up your caps and gowns in the Academic Affairs Office (103 Frye Building) beginning April 21st.

Diplomas will not be given out at graduation. They will be available for pick up in the Academic Affairs Office after June 13th. If you do not pick up your diploma by June 30th it will be mailed to you. You will receive your diploma cover when you cross the stage at the graduation ceremony.

GRADUATION DAY is Saturday, May 17, 2008. All faculty, staff and administrators should be at the Augusta Civic Center by 9:00 a.m. (you will be meeting in the Lincoln & Oxford Room which is to the right when you enter the lobby). Graduates will be meeting in the Androscoggin/Aroostook/Cumberland rooms (to the left as you enter the lobby of the Civic Center). Graduates should also plan on arriving no later than 9:00 a.m. The ceremony is scheduled to begin promptly at 10:00 a.m.

Any guests with special needs should try to arrive at least 45 minutes early so we may accommodate them. These reserved sections fill up quickly. They should speak to an usher upon arrival.

Any graduates who have special needs should contact the President’s Office at 453-5129 as soon as possible so we can accommodate you.

Students who do not plan to attend the graduation ceremony must notify the Academic Affairs Office at 453-5134 or 453-5119 immediately.

Ms. Sara Burns has accepted our invitation as guest speaker, and music will be provided by the Blue Hill Brass Quintet.

Seating is unlimited at the Civic Center and students may invite as many guests as they wish. Please be aware that the main level seating fills quickly, and once this seating is full guests will be directed to the balcony.

Invitations are available in the KVCC Bookstore.

Flo’s Flower Cart will be set up in the Civic Center lobby for guests and graduates to purchase flowers, and they will have a wonderful variety of options.
