About The Members:
Jennifer Hayward
Major: Liberal Arts
(Focus on Psychology)
Interests/Hobbies: I am very eclectic and participate
in various activities, for instance, outdoors, sports,
dancing,
music, movies, nightlife, etc. I am also very interested
in
personal and world development, whether dietary,
environmental,
or humanitarian.
Why I joined CAB: The main reason why I joined CAB was
to get more involved in planning enjoyable events for
the
students of KVCC. Here at KVCC we have a wide variety of
students with various tastes and interests, most not having extra
finances for entertainment, myself included. At CAB we are able
to supplement the lack of funds for such activities and host discount
or free activities on campus, often for both families and
friends. I enjoy being able to involve the entire campus and not just
those financially able.
What I like about KVCC: I like KVCC because of the
closeness there is. You are always meeting new people like the
larger colleges, yet, you are able to keep in contact with them. I also
like the student/teacher ratios; there is more contact and
availability between the students and faculty.
Ashley Mea
Major: Associate in Liberal Arts
Interests/Hobbies: I enjoy listening to music and
dancing, I like the outdoors, like walking,
rollerblading, going to the beach, and doing things with friends like
go to the movies or something.
Why I joined CAB: I joined CAB because I was a part
of student senate and we decided to split the activities
and senate so we could do more in each. And I was
thinking that is a good way to get more involved with my school
and a way to meet new people. I joined so I could have fun
instead of stressing about classes all the time.
What I like about KVCC: I like how most of the
people I see are friendly and you can pretty much talk to every
one you see. I like the fact that I can do extra activities with
people that I know and study in quiet places when I need to and
I also like the help that I get if I need it.
Michelle Gayne,
Director of
Student Development & Advisor to CAB
Major: When I was in college (University of
Maine) I earned degrees in Sociology (BA-2003) and
Student Development in Higher Education (MEd-2005).
Interests/Hobbies: Anything Outdoors!,
Gardening, Music (listening and going to shows), a good
independent film, Being with friends, Planning Events!,
My cat Max, Baking/Cooking esp. for others, Organizing!
Why I joined CAB: I wanted to see CAB focus
on providing quality programs that will enhance the KVCC
students’ lives outside of the classroom in a fun
setting. It’s my hope that we’ll create some annual
traditions and throw in some new programs to try in the
mix.
What I like about KVCC: The down-to-earth
feel everyone has. My incredible student leaders, The
faculty & staff (especially The Student Success Team).
The ability to make a difference whether it is small or
on a larger scale.
Charles Martin Carrow-Plourde
"Charlie"
Major:
Accounting
Interests/Hobbies: Sports, Music (playing and
going to shows), Going to the movies, Playing Pool,
Being with friends, Camping, Swimming, and Gaming.
Why I joined CAB: I joined CAB because I
wanted to part of something that gets people together on
campus in a fun environment. To see students and staff
smiling, having fun and knowing that you had a part of
it is a great feeling. I would love to see CAB grow and
I hope that I can create more involvement throughout the
campus body.
What I like about KVCC: I enjoy that there is
something going on just about everyday. The teachers
actually know your name. The gym and how it is open all
the time :) and knowing that just about everyone has
lunch at the same time :)
Ka-Fai Ho
Major:
Business Management
Why I joined CAB: I enjoy meeting new friends
and everyone in CAB are very nice and friendly.
What I like about KVCC: I love being a
student at KVCC. Everyone is so helpful from the
admissions office, to the Dean of Students, to the
Marden Learning Center...etc. As a business major, I
have learned far more than just the book material from
all of my professors! I can not say thank you enough to
KVCC for such a wonderful learning experience!
P.S. - Also thanks for the great food from KVCC
cafeteria!
