When your computer loads Windows
XP you will receive the following login screen:

Type your user name into the
User name: box. (Your username is generally your first initial and full last
name in all lowercase letters. e.g. Jeff Walker's login would be jwalker.)
NOTE: if your name is common your login may be
different. Please see or call a Technology staff member if you are unable to
login. Use 453-5079 locally or 1-800-528-5822 (in state only).
DO NOT enter any password. You
do not have a password at this time.
Be sure that KVTC-ACADEMIC appears in the Log on to: box.
Click the OK button or press the Enter key.
You will see the following message prompting you to change your password.

Click the OK button in the
prompt.
The following message box will
appear:

Use the Tab key or click on the
New Password: box and enter a password of your choice.
(there is no old
password)
Tab down or click on Confirm New Password: box and re-enter your new
password.
Click the OK box. You will now be connected to Kennebec Valley
Community College's network.
Please back up your work based on how you would feel if you had to
recreate the document. (Your teacher or a lab monitor can help you do this.)
When you are finished please be
sure you Shut Down the computer by going to the start button and clicking
Shut Down.
Please take a moment to see how the computer labs are layout. Printers have been relocated and, where possible, student work
space has been increased. Students are strongly encouraged to push their
chairs in and leave a clean work area for the next user. This helps you
develop good work habits.
