Preventative measures you can take to guard against influenza:

  • Cover your nose and mouth with a tissue (or your sleeve) when you cough or sneeze. Throw the tissue in the trash after you use it.
  • Wash your hands often with soap and water, especially after you cough or sneeze. Alcohol-based hands cleaners are also effective.
Here at KVCC we have hand washing stations in multiple locations in every building.
  • Avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth. Germs spread that way.
  • Get vaccinated.
  • If you are sick with the flu, stay home.
Although it is impossible for us to know how and to what degree the H1N1 flu will affect our community in the coming months, we can be sure that preventive measures, planning, and communication will help mitigate its impact. We will continue to provide information to you as the situation develops and changes. Should you have questions in the meantime, please don’t hesitate to contact John Delile, who is leading our H1N1 planning and preparation effort.
