Admissions to KVCC

Kennebec Valley Community College welcomes applications for admission from academically qualified students of all ages and backgrounds.  The academic credentials and life experience of each applicant are considered on an individual basis.  All applicants for credit programs are required to have earned a high school diploma or a state high school equivalency diploma (GED) as well as meeting program specific prerequisite requirements.

Students are accepted for admission in the fall, spring or summer semesters, with the exception of the following programs:  Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy, Respiratory Therapy, Nursing, Radiologic Technology and Lineworker Technology,  which only begin in the fall semester.  It is recommended that candidates for admission submit their applications as early as possible.  Though KVCC has "rolling admissions" for most programs, the early accepted student generally has access to a wider selection of courses.  Early financial aid applicants also have access to more resources.

Graduating high school students are encouraged to apply for admissions during the fall or winter of their senior year.  KVCC also offers additional assistance to high school guidance counselors to address questions about programs, admissions, or student life at the college with a dedicated telephone line (207)453-5155 or toll free 1-800-528-5882, extension 5155.
