Introduction To Photovoltaics

This 45-hour course will introduce students to the 4 basic principles of photovoltaics.  The topics for discussion will focus on site selection, panel types, storage centers, system design and system application.  Although this is an introductory level course, students should be able to install basic systems upon course completion.  Applications for these systems could include remote camp electrical systems and remote water pumping.  The instructor for this course has worked as an engineer designer with heat exchanges for the utilization of waste heat from building ventilation, has been an assistant professor in thermodynamics, has a Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Ph.D. in Thermal Science.
