This course focuses on
financial decision making by the firm.
Topics include financial analysis and
planning, valuation, cost of capital,
capital budgeting, capital structure and
dividend policy, long-term financing and
working capital management. Computerized
financial modeling tools will be integrated
with each topic to facilitate the decision
making process. Prerequisite: ACC112 with grade of "C" or
better.
FIN202 Principles of
Banking
3 Credits
This
introductory course explores all aspects of
banking. Topics include the evaluation of U.
S. banking, bank organizations, and the
federal reserve functions, banking documents
and language, regulation, examination, and
control of banks. This should be the first
course taken in the bank sequence, as it is
intended to provide a good foundation for
further bank courses.
FIN203 Consumer Lending
3 Credits
This course
provides a thorough presentation of the
consumer credit function. Topics include the
consumer installment credit market,
regulation of consumer credit, the lending
process, loan pricing, collections, and
management of the consumer credit function.
The purpose is to provide the student with a
thorough understanding of the consumer
credit function and its significance within
the scope of the banking organization.
FIN204 Commercial Lending
3 Credits
This course
focuses on the commercial lending process,
its organization and relationship to bank
profitability. Topics covered include loan
interviews and credit investigations, the
"Five Cs" of commercial lending, loan
structure and documentation, and
identification and prevention of problem
loans. A major purpose of the course is to
provide the student with a thorough
understanding of the commercial credit
function and its significance within the
scope of the banking organization. Prerequisite: FIN201, ACC212 with grade
of "C" or better.
