DSO012 Basic Writing                                                    No Credit

This course is designed to review basic writing skills and may be required based on placement test results. Special emphasis is placed on fragments, run-ons, verbs and other areas where students have the most difficulty. The purpose of Basic Writing is to help students to improve their writing skills to the level necessary for success not only in college writing courses but also in reports and other written assignments required in most classes. Course fee is minimal.

DSO015 Basic Reading                                                  No Credit  This course is designed to improve all aspects of reading that assist students during a college career. This is accomplished by teaching various specific strategies that improve reading skills using selections from actual college texts while giving practice in effective study skills related to reading. The purpose of this course is top prepare students for the reading demands of college courses. Course fee is minimal.

DSO025 Basic Math                                                      No Credit

This course is designed to improve basic math skills and may be required based on placement test results. Utilizing a text-workbook, all the operations of arithmetic are reviewed. The purpose of this course is to help students to improve math skills to the level necessary for success in college math courses. Basic Math is a review of operations with whole numbers and fractions and includes work on decimals, ratios, proportions and percents. Course fee is minimal.
