review basic writing skills. Special
emphasis is placed on fragments, run-ons,
subject-verb agreement, parallelism, and
punctuation. Its purpose is to prepare the
student to succeed in college writing
courses and other writing assignments

This course is
designed to improve all aspects of reading
that assist students during a college
career. This is accomplished by teaching
various specific strategies that improve
reading skills using selections from actual
college texts while giving practice in
effective study skills related to reading.
