HUMANITIES REQUIREMENT

All associate degree programs require a three-credit Humanities course. Humanities, in associate

degree programs, are studies which expand the student’s awareness of the human condition and

appreciation of human needs, values, and achievements. Humanities include studies of literature,

languages, history, philosophy, religion, and the history and appreciation of the fine arts. Explicitly excluded

from meeting Humanities requirements are courses in composition, speech, technical writing, introductory

foreign languages, performing arts, and the behavioral, physical, and biological sciences. Refer to course

descriptions in the back of this catalog for additional information (humanities courses have an (H)

designation).
