Program Information

The PTA Program at Kennebec Valley Community College is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation in Physical Therapy Education of the American Physical Therapy Association. The curriculum is designed to develop the knowledge, skills and professional behaviors required of the entry-level PTA. It is a rigorous, competency-based program that uses student self-assessment in the learning process. Students are instructed in clinical skills and are required to practice and demonstrate safe and accurate performance of these skills throughout the curriculum. Students complete three full-time clinical education experiences in a variety of practice settings. These experiences give students the opportunity to apply clinical skills under the supervision of clinical instructors to individuals whose abilities are impaired by disease or injury. The program is committed to preparing its graduates to be valued members of the health care team. For more information about the program, click on the appropriate links below.
