Alumni Stories
My name is Susan Snow and I am a proud 1996 graduate of the Physical Therapist
Assistant Program at Kennebec Valley Community College. I was a non-traditional
student, going back to school with a career change in mind. I found everything I
needed at KVCC.
The profession of physical therapy is a perfect fit for me. Nowhere else can I
use my problem solving skills and my interest in the sciences and health to make
a difference in people’s lives on a daily basis. Physical therapy allows me to
use my knowledge and skills, but enables me to make that “personal connection”
with my clients which is so rewarding for them as well as for me.
There is no limit to the amount you can achieve as a PTA. The opportunities are
endless. I am prepared to work with any age group in hospitals, rehab centers,
wellness centers, outpatient clinics and so much more. I love the variety my
career allows me! I hope to enjoy the traveling opportunities too.
The program at KVCC was excellent. When I was hired after graduation, I was
excited. I was hired at the same time as three physical therapists (new
graduates also). I was amazed. I felt completely at home and confident in my
skills. The PTs were amazed also, because they were amazed at my skills as
well!! The PTA program at KVCC is second to none when it comes to education and
preparing you for any clinical situation.
I want to thank the PTA academic facullty at KVCC. Thanks to them; I have a
career I love. I have excelled in my profession, holding state and national
offices, but most importantly……I have the skills and ability to make people’s
lives better/less painful/more productive/ and very happy. One life at a time.
Boy if that isn’t a great feeling, I don’t know what is. THANKS KVCC!!
Sincerely,
Susan Snow PTA
