| When I went into HIT program I was doing it to become a medical
coder. I didn’t realize there is more to the program. The options and
places to work are endless. Tammy Moody, class 2008 |

| In 2003 I graduated from KVCC with a certificate in Administrative
Office Technology and immediately started working for an area physician.
Soon I learned health care is continually evolving and that I lacked
specific, technical skill sets critical to this profession. I
re-enrolled and entered HIT program. I am forever grateful to this institution, campus staff, and mentor/instructor, Sharon Veilleux, for standing behind their commitment…helping you enrich your life and achieve your career potential…through excellence in teaching and promoting student success, treating everyone with dignity and respect. Student Tip: Be positive-minded and never stop learning. Debbie Hebert, class 2003, 2008 |

I would recommend this program because I have learned
so much over the past two years and this knowledge has made me a better
person. I really think I have something to offer. Sarah Overlock, class 2008 |

My two years were unforgettable! Even though it is a small two-year
college, KVCC was the only college in this area offering a degree in
Administrative Healthcare or Health Information Management. The campus is its own small community. Everyone is very pleasant. And because the campus is so comforting, I practically lived there. My daughter attended the daycare, which was convenient, while I studied in the beautiful library. The Directed Practice helped me determine which area in healthcare I would enjoy, while preparing me to be hired upon graduation. For three years I have been Client Records Manager at one of Maine’s largest, non-profit behavioral health organizations. I am truly thankful. Student Comment: I would have done one thing differently: Two years lapsed before I sat for the RHIT exam, which forced me to re-educate myself in subjects that are not part of my current job. Don’t wait! April Wade, RHIT, class 2005 |

My experience at KVCC has been a supportive learning environment. I
would recommend this program to others: KVCC’s tuition is reasonable. Lise Theriault, class 2008 |

I chose the HIT program at KVCC because I’ve always been interested in
healthcare. At one point, I wanted to be a nurse but realized I don’t
have the ‘people skills’ that job required. I found that I could still
pursue my interest by enrolling in the HIT program. I learned so much
from the core classes and put what I learned to use in my first job
after graduation in a medical records department. Sharon Veilleux was and still is a great teacher and advisor. I took away much more than a degree from my time with her.
Student Comment: KVCC is a great school and I would definitely return for more classes in the future. Jody Bucknam, class 2005 |
