Students Should Know: I view nursing as a holistic and humanistic science. Nurses' address all the patient's needs whether sick or well, in their wholeness and humanness. Recent shifts in nursing education have evolved from causation, to a more interpretive view. "How nurses seek answers to questions in their nursing practice." As a seasoned critical care nurse, I am very aligned with this view of nursing practice. The critical thinking process is deemed an essential quality in today's health care arena. It is my pleasure to share my years of wisdom with students in this nursing program, for nursing is not only what I do, but who I am!
