Most applicants to KVCC are required to take an entrance or placement test to assess their reading, writing, and mathematical skills. When scores
indicate the need, students will be required to successfully complete courses in
basic studies prior to being reviewed for acceptance or, if accepted, prior to
enrolling in subsequent college level course work.
KVCC utilizes three different
placement tests. Applicants will be notified of the appropriate assessment. Any
students who are interested in brushing up on their basic math skills
(fractions, decimals, percents, etc.) before coming in to take any of the
assessments are encouraged to sign up for a math review session. The
review sessions are free and will be held in Carter Hall, Room 226 on
Wednesdays from 3:00-5:30pm and Carter Hall, Room 121 on Tuesdays from 9:30am-12:00pm:
