How To Request An Interlibrary Loan

 

If you can not find a book within the KVCC stacks (pictured below) you may search MINERVA. Example title: “Never hit a ghost with a baseball bat”.

 

 

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: Click Search Rounded Rectangular Callout: Where it says Kennebec Valley Community College, click All MINERVA Locations

 

 

The following screen will appear.

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: Click on the blue book title

 

 

The following screen will appear telling you the Location, Call Number, and Status (i.e., availability) of the item.

 

 

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: To request the book, click on the Request button

 

 

When you click on the Request button, the following screen will appear.

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: Click SubmitRounded Rectangular Callout: Type in your 14 digit library barcodeRounded Rectangular Callout: Type in your name as it appears on your student ID

 

 

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: If the transaction was successful it will let you know. If there was a problem it will let you know as well.

 

 

Once the book has arrived at the KVCC Lunder library, you will receive an e-mail letting you know. If for any reason the loaning library canceled the request, you will also be informed via e-mail. The Due-Date will be 3 weeks from pickup. When you are finished, please drop off the book at Kennebec Valley Community College not the lending library.

 

If no MINERVA Library owns the book you are interested in, you may borrow the book from INN-Reach, which consists of the University of Maine libraries, Bangor Public, Portland Public, Bates, Colby, Bowdoin, and the Maine State Library.

The following screen will appear.

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: Click on Display Holdings of Maine Info Net Libraries to see who carries the book

 

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: When you have the record up on the screen, a request button will appear. Click on Request This Item.

 

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: Click on the down arrow to choose the library consortium you are affiliated with, which would be MINERVA.

 

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: Click on Submit above information

 

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: Type in your 14 digit library barcode numberRounded Rectangular Callout: Please type in your name as it appears on your student ID

 

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: Click on the arrow next to Pickup Location and select Kennebec Valley Community CollegeRounded Rectangular Callout: Click Submit

 

 

Rounded Rectangular Callout: Again you will see a message saying whether or not your request was successful.

 

 

If you receive a different message, please contact the library for assistance (453-5004).

 

The book will be sent to Kennebec Valley Community College where you will be notified by email. The Due-Date will be 3 weeks from the pickup day. Please drop off the book at Kennebec Valley Community College not the lending library.
