Respiratory Therapy

Responsibilities

RT's work in hospital's/ medical centers providing the care a patient needs to in order to breath properly.

They work in emergency rooms and surgery rooms, providing critical care.

Must have a good math background and science as well as an aptitude for working with computers / equipment.

Evaluate, treat and manage patients with respiratory diseases and other cardiopulmonary disorders as prescribed by a physician.  The role may include treatments with patients that are intended to provide immediate relief of breathing discomfort, emergency care in patients that may be experiencing a life-threatening event, drawing blood samples and running tests, and teaching patients and families techniques and knowledge to care for themselves at home.
