Radiologic Technology

 

Responsibilities

"Rad tech's" or X-ray technicians take X-ray's of broken bones, lungs, kidneys, the head, or any other body part, using x-ray machines.

Are often considered the "radiation experts" in the hospitals.

Often work with the elderly and very sick people, often who will need assistance moving to the correct position to take the x-ray.

X-ray is the stepping stone on to other areas such as ultrasound, M.R.I.'s, cat scans, mammography, and many other areas.

Work is primarily in hospitals or medical centers.  Can be found in  doctors & chiropractors offices and clinics.

May be in surgery, emergency room, or routine x-ray.
