CAD - Responsibilities

CAD operators create blue prints and designs using computers.

Critical thinking skills and problem solving techniques are a major part of a career as a CADD Drafter in the Computer Aided Drafting and Design fields. CADD Drafters in the "information age" are called upon to provide solutions in a wide variety of technical areas.

CADD drafters need to be able to communicate their thoughts clearly with employers and clients to create meaningful and accurate designs in the form of working drawings.

Many days will be spent working at a computer station by yourself.

Industries such as business, architecture, machine manufacturing, mechanical and structural design all depend upon CADD Drafters to develop a variety of working drawings.
