KVCC chapter of Sigma Alpha Pi inducts 22 new members


FAIRFIELD, ME – The Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) chapter of the National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alpha Pi, inducted 22 new members April 18.

Many friends and family members as well as College faculty, staff, and students attended the evening ceremony in Carter Hall. KVCC Vice President and Academic Dean Dr. Jon Connolly gave the keynote address.

Inductees with an asterisk achieved the Presidential Level with a cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 3.3 or higher at the time of invitation to the Society.

Inductees highlighted in bold are recipients of the National Engaged Leader Award.

The ceremony also included presentation of many awards to faculty, staff, and alumni of the College. Awards included:

Excellence in Teaching: Alex Clifford, Business Faculty; Jim Guilemette, Science Faculty; Carrie Hall, English Faculty.

Honorary Society Membership: Dr. Richard Hopper, President; Dr. Jon Connolly, Vice President/Academic Dean; Ryan Connon, Dean of Technology; Toby Bragdon, KVCC Graduate in Liberal Studies.

Excellence in Service to Students: Michelle Gayne, Student Success Coordinator; Carrie Hall, Faculty; Brianna Pushor, College Store Manager.

The National Society of Leadership and Success, Sigma Alpha Pi, is a Leadership Honor Society with more than 200 college chapters, with the mission to build leaders who make a better world. Local chapters offer in-person leadership development and peer-to-peer networking for students around the world.
