Public forum scheduled on Good Will-Hinckley acquisition

Fairfield, ME –Kennebec Valley Community College has announced that a public forum on plans being developed for the property acquired by the College from the Good Will-Hinckley School in January will be held May 9th.

The forum will begin at 6 p.m. in Room 133 of Lunder Library, located on KVCC’s Fairfield campus. An overview of the master planning process for the new property will be presented, followed by a question and answer session.

Anyone interested in learning more about preliminary plans for the new campus is encouraged to attend this forum.

Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) is expanding thanks to a gift from the Harold Alfond Foundation to the Maine Community College System (MCCS).

The Alfond Foundation gift and details of the expansion were announced during a Jan. 23 press conference held at the Blaine House in Augusta.

The Foundation’s gift will enable KVCC to expand through the purchase of 702 acres and more than a dozen facilities at GWH, seven miles north of the current campus.

KVCC has now begun the master planning process for the expansion and will be addressing needs and uses for the new campus in the coming months.
