NETCo Scholarship Fund established at KVCC

Windsor, ME – A scholarship fund dedicated to Windsor residents attending Kennebec Valley Community College (KVCC) has been established thanks to the generosity of a local company.

The NETCo Scholarship Fund was established to encourage Windsor residents to enroll in college and achieve personal, academic, and professional success. Scholarships may be awarded in amounts up to $3,000 per year for full-time students and $1,500 per year for part-time students.

A $25,000 donation made by the company to the KVCC Foundation has been used to set up the fund.

“It is the company’s pleasure to be able to offer educational assistance to the citizens of Windsor. Education is one of the building blocks to building a great family and healthy society as a whole. As Mainers we all need jobs and employers need an educated workforce and KVCC is a great place to start the education process,” Mark Scribner, President NETCo, Inc. said.

Preference for scholarship awards will be given to students ages 24 and older who wish to enroll in a degree or certificate program of study at KVCC. There are also limited funds available for students who wish to give college a try by enrolling in one course.

The scholarship program provides an opportunity for students to enter college for the first time, or to return to higher education to complete an unfinished degree.

Recipients must attend KVCC and must demonstrate financial need by completing a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
