Honors Program

INTRODUCING THE KVCC HONORS PROGRAM

What is the Honors Program?

It's your place to show colleges, universities, and employers what you're capable of through a rigorous and individualized program of study that requires no additional classes!

Is the Honors Program for me?

You'll want to consider the Honors Program if any of the following apply to you:

a.) You want to transfer to a four-year college or university--especially those with competitive admissions requirements.

b.) You'd like to be competitive for grants, fellowships, and scholarships.

c.) The idea of using your knowledge and skills to solve problems and help your community excites you.

d.) You're ready for an intellectual challenge!

The Honors Program is for motivated and curious students who wish to follow their academic interests through classes they already take.

Why should I consider the Honors Program?

Value:  Our Associate degrees often costs less than one semester at many four-year schools. You can receive the same level of academic rigor, more faculty contact, and experience more for much less! Plus, our courses transfer to colleges and universities everywhere.

Experience: The Honors Program is committed to getting you out into the world to learn, to ask questions, and study what matters to you.

Success: You will not only receive training in academic disciplines, but also receive one-to-one help with college and scholarship applications as well as networking opportunities with partnering schools.

What would I need to do?

The program builds on students’ current degree program without creating extra classes.

In order to graduate with an Honors designation, you must complete three core experiences:

1.) Take an honors seminar (offered in the Spring of each academic year)

2.) Complete three honors projects (through a class, during an internship, within the community, or even at another school).

3.) Compile a portfolio of your work for the world to see!
