Accuplacer Test Proctor OPEN

Fairfield campus, Lunder Building

Friday’s from 8am – 12pm – Start date September 7, 2018

  • Ensure that all testing room arrangements and computers are set-up prior to testing
  • Greet students and verify personal information by checking identification
  • Provide students with test instructions and ensure they have testing materials
  • Ensure that students do not possess any materials that are in violation of test protocols
  • Proctor the testing room and ensure that students do not indulge in misconduct
  • Provide aid to students before and during test session to ensure a secure testing environment

 

Event Coordinator Postion - Filled

Location: Alfond Campus

Position Description: The Event Coordinator provides organization of event details, communication with customers and coordinates with catering and other relevant departments on campus; setting up and procuring all staffing needs. The Coordinator will act as the liaison between the school personnel, facilities, and food service team to facilitate client needs.

Event Coordinator Duties

  • Organize and manage facilities and event details such as technology needs, set up, safety & security needs
  • Provide campus tours for external groups looking to use our campuses/facilities
  • Liaison between internal & external constituents to identify event needs
  • Communicate event needs and changes with campus stakeholders
  • Forward on MCCS contract materials and record keeping of said documents
  • Proactively handle any arising issues and troubleshoot any emerging problems on event day
  • On event day, check space for set up; contact departments if details remain to be addressed
  • Conduct post event evaluations (surveys) and report on outcomes to stakeholders
  • Coordinate with catering staff (I believe this belongs under duties)

Minimum Requirements:

  • High School degree completed
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in food service, event planning or related work that demonstrates skills and knowledge of planning, organizing and managing events.
  • Strong communication (written and oral) and organizational skills; an ability to relate well to individuals and groups
  • Clean driving record and current driver’s license (must travel between campuses)
  • Working knowledge of Windows based PC applications (e.g. Word, Excel, e-mail)

 

Student Security Officer - Part time - Filled

Position Description: KVCC’s Student Security Officer positions are part-time, typically 15-30 hours per week. Scheduled hours may be days, nights or weekends. Officers will be trained to enforce campus rules and policies, respond to calls for service-including emergencies, interact with students, staff and the public, perform periodic safety inspections, collect and input inspection data and work in conjunction with Securitas Security Officers to assist the Safety & Security Manager in the execution of their job duties. Student Security Officers are supervised by the College Safety and Security Manager.

Student Security Officer - Per diem - Filled

Position Description: KVCC’s Per Diem Student Security Officer positions are on call, as needed for shift and event coverage. Shifts are typically 4-8 hours depending on coverage needs. Scheduled hours may be days, nights or weekends. Per Diem Officers will be primarily scheduled for event coverage but may be trained to cover regular shifts as well. Per Diem Officers will work in conjunction with regular Security Officers to assist the Safety & Security Manager in the execution of their job duties. Student Security Officers are supervised by the College Safety and Security Manager.

Farm Hand Position - Open

Location: KVCC Farm

Position Description: A farm hand at the KVCC Farm works directly with the farm manager to ensure smooth farm operations. In the spring semester this entails harvesting vegetables for the campus food distribution, taking care of the animals’ daily needs, clearing snow away from greenhouse spaces, and seeding plants for the summer production. While working this position the student will learn more about our operations as a farm and will be able to focus on areas of particular interest to them. The spring semester also includes lambing season which involves tending to sheep in labor. Hours are irregular but can be worked around the student’s schedule. Sustainable Agriculture and Culinary Arts students are particularly encouraged to apply. Student must be able to consistently lift 50lbs or more and be comfortable working outside in all kinds of weather. This 10 hour a week position will be for the spring semester only.  This person will report to the Farm Manager.

 

Financial Aid Assistant  - Filled

Location: Enrollment Service Center, Fairfield Campus
Position Description: KVCC Financial Aid Office is seeking an energetic person to assist with day-to-day tasks. The successful candidate needs to be outgoing and comfortable interacting with the public and be able to maintain confidentiality in regards to student records. The Financial Aid Assistant will help with phone calls, customer service, aid with triage (student traffic), general clerical tasks, shredding, scanning, filing, and additional tasks assigned.
 
Preferred Qualifications: Be able to multi-task, detail-oriented, and have strong customer service skills

 

Reading Tutor - Open

Location:  Local elementary school
Position Description: One on one small group assistant in Kindergarten through Grade 3; pre-reading, early reading, and writing activities

 

Foundation Office Assistant - Filled 

QUALIFICATIONS: Below are the required skills for a successful applicant:

  • Working knowledge of WORD and EXCEL an ability to create documents, complete a mail merge, create an EXCEL report, and save and print documents.
  • Ability to complete a computer practice test.
  • Willingness to learn a fundraising database application.
  • Willingness and ability to take pictures of students and events, record video clips, and assist in video editing for fundraising purposes.
  • General Office tasks to include data entry, filing, photocopying, and scanning.
  • Attention to detail is critical.
  • An open-minded, enthusiastic, customer service attitude; Ability to work and take initiative.
  • Punctuality, dependability, and excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work 10 hours a week, Monday through Friday between the hours of 8 a.m. and 3 p.m.
  • Maine Resident and enrolled in 6 fall course credits or more.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The position will require entering accurate information into a computer database. This position may require some correspondence via phone or email to verify correct data. This task requires great attention to detail and accuracy, effective communication skills both written and oral, and a customer friendly approach. The tasks may include but are not limited to entering financial and non-financial information into a database, maintaining upmost confidentiality of records and information, answering the phone, assisting with photography, video editing, mailings, filing, and assistance with event planning or other projects. This position must maintain a professional and confidential perspective with regard to private data and information. The schedule will be determined at hire and can be flexible around course schedule; additional hours may become available as needed.

Admission Assistant - Filled

Location: Enrollment Service Center, Fairfield Campus
Position Description: KVCC Admissions is seeking an energetic person to assist with day-to-day tasks within the Admissions/Enrollment office. The successful candidate needs to be outgoing and comfortable interacting with the public, possess strong attention to detail, and be able to maintain confidentiality in regards to student records. Duties will include making phone calls, providing campus tours, assisting with activities related to Student Orientation and Registration (SOAR), and providing other necessary support to the Admissions staff.

Position Description: Overseeing night activities both fitness and multi-purpose room. Light cleaning and other duties assigned

 

Trio Program Assistant - Open

Location: Fairfield Campus
Position Description: The TRIO Office Assistant is responsible for providing exceptional customer service for KVCC’s TRIO program at the Alfond Campus. The successful candidate must demonstrate effective communication skills (both oral and written), comfort working with a wide variety of constituents, and a student-friendly approach. Duties may include but are not limited to answering the phone, managing the TRIO space when professional staff are out of the office, and assisting professional staff with additional projects as needed. This person must also maintain confidentiality with regard to any private data or information s/he may encounter. This person may occasionally be asked to assist with TRIO initiatives that are based on the Fairfield campus.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ability to professionally represent TRIO to both on- and off-campus constituents when professional staff are unavailable; as such, a TRIO student or a student with a background similar to the target population is highly desirable
  • Ability to provide excellent reception support (answering phones, taking messages, tending to walk-ins) and to manage multiple tasks at once
  • An enthusiastic, customer-friendly attitude; ability to lead when necessary and comfort taking initiative
  • Punctuality, dependability, and excellent written and oral communication skills  
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite and willingness to learn new skills
  • Proficiency with general office tasks, including photocopying and scanning

 

Multi-Task Office Worker - Filled

Location: Enrollment Center, Fairfield Campus
Position Description: All general office duties including answering the phones, covering the front desk, filing and scanning documents, and other projects assigned.
Special Qualifications: Be able to multi-task and have strong customer service skills.

 

Learning Commons Assistant - Filled

Location: Fairfield Campus
Position Description: This is a student employment position available for a learning commons assistant within the Learning Commons.  The person in this position will learn, and ultimately be able, to do the following: work collaboratively with the Learning Commons Director, enter data in KV Portal, schedule testing and tutoring for students, proctor tests, including make-up tests, disability tests, and Accuplacer placement tests, photocopy and scan documents, create documents using Microsoft, help create and implement mini workshops, and perform other duties as required.

  • Working knowledge of WORD, EXCEL and PUBLISHER an ability to create documents, save and print documents. Willingness to learn additional computer software packages
