Child Care Scholarships

 

 Rural Initiative Child Care Scholarship

 Eligibility:

  • Student may be enrolled in credit or non-credit course leading to a credential

  • Student may be enrolled full or part time,

  • Student may be matriculated or non-matriculated,

  • Student must be a Maine resident living in a rural community

  • Student must be In need of financial assistance,

  • Continued scholarship eligibility is based on student’s successful course completion

  • Student must complete Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

  • Child care must be provided by a licensed child care provider or by family, friend, or neighbor. The caregiver must not live in the same household as the scholarship recipient

  • The caregiver will be required to fill out a IRS W-9 form.

 

How to Apply

Guidelines and application forms will be sent via the KVCC e-mail to all students the first week of August and application forms will be due by August 25. Scholarships will be awarded the week of September 15.  If additional funds become available for the spring semester (due to scholarship recipients not returning) then additional awards will be made from the original pool of applications.
